Recently I’ve been losing patience with those who publicly claim they love animals but still consume them and support the industries that exploit them. Then I take a very deep breath, remember to respect their journey, remind myself how long mine was and try to lead by example.
After another couple of deep breaths I’m usually relaxed and try to think about those setting an example for me.
A recent fine example is Gigi Pizzeria in Newtown. Their 2015 switch to a vegan menu was unexpected, but inspiring. Their considered and compassionate decision to maintain the tradition of the Neapolitan woodfired pizza and use quality plant-based ingredients is the perfect example of how a business can transition to an ethical and successful journey.
I hope Gigi have planted many seeds for other businesses to start their journeys to make compassionate and successful business decisions.
